This page outlines Healing Hearts Counseling LLC and its representatives’ (“we,” “us,” or “our”) policies related to the use of Social Media. Please read it to understand how we conduct ourselves on the Internet as mental heal professionals and how you can expect us to respond to various interactions that may occur between us on the internet. The content posted on our social media accounts is for informational purposes only and is not therapeutic advice.
Changes to the Social Media Policy
As new technology develops and the Internet changes, there may be times when we need to update the policy. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time and it’s your responsibility to check for any changes to the policy.
Friending/Following
We maintain a social media presence for informational and educational purposes. There is no expectation for you to access or follow it. You are encouraged to use your own discretion. However, we do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site. Adding clients as friends or contact on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our respective privacy. We also do not follow former or current client accounts on social media. We have no expectation that you will follow our accounts. However, if you use an easily recognizable name and we happen to notice your follow and liked us, we may briefly discuss its impact on our working relationship.
Interacting via Social Media Messaging
Please do not use messaging on social networking sites to contact us. The sites are not monitored on a regular basis. In addition, these sites are not secure. Do not use wall postings, @replies, or other means of engaging with us in public online if we have an already established client/therapist relationship. Engaging with us this way could compromise your confidentiality and our therapeutic relationship. It may also create the possibility that these exchanges become a part of your legal medical record and will need to be documented and archived in your chart.
While you are welcome to interact with our public posts, please avoid sharing personal or confidential information in comments or messages. As a client or non-client, it is your choice to engage with our social media sites but we will not engage back. Interactions on social media platforms are not a substitute for therapy or professional services. For confidential matters, please contact us through our website or schedule an appointment.
If you are in a crisis, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room/crisis center.
